Munden Pillbox A – Type 22

The chain of pillboxes at this location are part of the outer London defence ring, built around London during the early part of the Second World War.

It was intended as a defence against a German invasion, and was part of a national network of similar “Stop Lines”.

The Radlett to Watford collection of pillbox and anti-tank traps that would have connected with the Shenley line to the east.
