Brick shuttering type 24 pillbox from WW2, it guards a WW2 Anti-Aircraft Battery complex to defend the eastern approach to London and the Docklands in the NW.

The chain of pillboxes at this location are part of the outer London defence ring, built around London during the early part of the Second World War.

It was intended as a defence against a German invasion, and was part of a national network of similar “Stop Lines”.
